Arthur's conjectures for symplectic and orthogonal similitude groups
Abstract: Arthur (1989) conjectured that the discrete spectrum of automorphic representations of a connected reductive group over a number field can be decomposed into A-packets, in terms of which he also conjectured a multiplicity formula. In this talk I will give an introduction to these conjectures and report on the progress for symplectic and orthogonal similitude groups based on the works of Arthur and Moeglin for classical groups.
